INNER WORLDS & Follow Me Remix Theophilus London

2 DEF∆SEC® Family members made entries for the Theophilus London - All Around The World remix contest.

The INNER WORLDS remix sounds like robotic lil kim & a gang of aliens with analog synths making fashionably retro 3012 pop music.  galactic gangsta flavor with glitched out drums, hazy synths and mean analog basslines

St. Lucia

So If you don't already know about New York City's St. Lucia this will be a serious introduction to an artist who is going to be blowing up this coming year. Not only does homeboy make some of the most respectable psychedelic electronica around, but he just got co-signed by Neon Gold and........Columbia Records. Yea, this dudes a head, and I honestly can't figure out why this remix he dropped last week isn't being covered by every single blog on your planet's internet. We were blown away when we stumbled across this one, keep this dude on the radar screen, we travalled into the future to listen to his upcoming release and believe me, it will not disappoint. For now treat yourself to this wonder:

FINAL DJS

Me and Liquid Joey are big fans of Basti & Thomas, better known as the Final DJs. They are one of the few acts that has successfully homogenized that 80's feel we all know and love with more modern funky bass lines and 90's house pianos to make for some really massive dance bangers. Their production is always impeccable, and if you aren't already familiar with these guys you'll have quite a few new tracks to head bob to this weekend. We expect big things from these heads in 2012, and today we give you their new JAM "One Day in the Sun" released just an hour ago, sounds like summer on this fucking freezing cold winter day, blast this:

New Miike Snow

Today Miike Snow dropped his very trendy new track "Paddling Out" off his upcoming album 'Happy To You', which will be out in March. Basically it contains everything Tracasseur says is hip right now in the music world, some 90's house inspired structure (and house piano!) with an early deep disco feel in the bass and drum lines. The vocals are pretty catchy, and with well over 10,000 plays in the first 12 hours since it's been uploaded I figured it was well worth sharing. It will certainly be a crowd pleaser for many, and I'm sure it will be circulating through the blog circuit for the next couple of weeks, so maybe you'll be able to say you heard it here first.

.:. Vanguard .:.

Vanguard is a seriously funky duo from the U.K., and, in my opinion, one of the only acts making any type of respectable sample based filter house/disco. The heads made a huge debut with their Oysters in the Half Shell EP last summer along with an array of really tight remixes and edits they released throughout the year. Haven't seen anything new from them in a couple months, until a few days ago when they dropped a very short new jam that left me wanting a lot more. Well, today they came through with another new remix, and both tracks are definitely worth a listen. Personally I think they have done better work in the past (We brought you their HUGE remix of The Scientists of Modern Music's Because if I Die a few months back) but I'm really down with the incorporation of the rap lyrics towards the end of this remix. The original has great vibes as well, though it is definitely a bit of a tease. 2012 Should be a promising year for these two, here are their first offerings, see what you think:

.:. OLIVER...Makin' Moves .:.

By now I'm sure you are familiar with Oliver, U-tern's project with fellow head Oliver Goldstein (Oligee). The two made quite a splash last year, propelling themselves to the forefront of the Nu-Disco/Future Italo movement at a ridiculous rate. If you are into that scene, keep this duo permanently fixed on your radar in 2012. Today they dropped their highly anticipated EP, Dirty Talk, with Kitsune Records:

Oliver - Dirty Talk by weareoliver

Be sure to check out the B-side single as well, "Walk With Me", Liquid Joey's Preference:

In the remix department, Black Van put together a pretty slick edit, not quite as dark or heavy as the original, goes down real smooth:

And if you are into their style, the Oliver boys also uploaded a synth heavy new mixtape to celebrate the release. It bangs, and definitely helps contextualize their vibes. But, as they said, it is "not for the faint of heart"

Bestrack Is Back

Well Earth, this was a big start to 2012 for you guys. First our brother Inner Worlds and cousin Viceroy won the Yelle Remix contest side by side, then you used your LHC to create the first time traveling Higgs particles, which (spoiler alert!) are ultimately going to catalyze some massive Cosmic Shifts later in the year .:. Have your third eyes ready.:. In accordance with this time-travelling business, Bestrack dropped this new BANGER that makes the inside of our spaceship sound like its 2008-9 again, even reminiscent of some of the early Russ Chimes jaunts. The Frenchmen are two of the most serious heads on your planet, they destroy everything they get their hands on in the remix game and their originals are equally impressive. These types of dudes are a rarity now a days, and I can think of few artists that are still making tunes on this level while still staying true to the sound they blew up with. It had been quite sometime since they dropped anything new, but here is one hot off the presses, another massive Bestrack edit, hopefully they will keep em comin' in 2012, cause Liquid Joey and I can't get enough of these vibes .:. .:. .:. DEF SEC to the fucking max:
In case you missed these heads somehow here are some of my personal Fav's from the past:
And, of course, the most Massive Remix of Russ Chimes ever made:
